The Federation of World Peace and Love has been established in the United States in 2000 by Dr. Hong Tao-Tze, and has actively spread the idea of love and peace and promoted world peace through various means such as cultural exchanges and solemn ceremonies of ringing the Bell of World Peace and Love. To unite more people sharing the same vision FOWPAL has held world summits and invited leaders from various countries to ring the bell and in this way actively promote world peace and cultural exchanges. The consolidated positive energy has inspired more people to work together.
FOWPAL members come from 95 countries; presently 288 prominent figures from 96 countries have rung the bell, made their wishes for love and peace, and pledged to work for the world’s sustainable future. Among them are 36 heads of state and government, 8 Nobel Prize Laureates, UN ambassadors and officers, and many other leaders with the message that 'We are One World'.
This joint event offered an opportunity to share how His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister has taken the Kingdom of Bahrain from its simple beginnings to a modern, technologically advanced nation with a vibrant economy and an enduring sustainable future where the citizens and residents enjoy the fruits of freedom, peace, love and tolerance. The Kingdom of Bahrain upholds the honorable principals of FOWPAL whose main mission is to actively spread the idea of love and peace and promote world peace through various means such as cultural exchanges and solemn ceremonies.
This time, the Royal Family of Austria, Habsburg-Lothringen, with their internationally renowned Flame of Peace participated in the peace bell ceremony and interviews, together with other distinguished guests from many different countries, including the representatives from United Nations and other important peace building NGOs.
The Kingdom of Bahrain
The Kingdom of Bahrain is an archipelago of islands with an area of 765.3 square kilometres and a population of approximately 1.4 million. The communities in Bahrain include Hindus, Christians and Jews amongst others who live in peace and with a sense of freedom, belonging, and diversity. This makes the country a role model of harmony with the constitution guaranteeing equality in human dignity for all citizens without discrimination to race, origin, language, religion or belief. The constitution also guarantees the inviolability of places of worship and the freedom to perform religious rites and to hold religious processions and meetings in
accordance with the customs observed in the country.
Under the wise vision of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and the ambitious and modern policies and measures implemented by the government under his leadership the country, the country has taken great strides in achieving sustainable socio-economic development and moved on to become a modern, technologically advanced nation. The Human Development Report 2016 ranked Bahrain 47th globally and 4th among GCC and Arab States and according to the Index of Economic Freedom issued by the Heritage Foundation 2017, Bahrain ranks 44th globally.
In the context of a modern state built on justice, the rule of law, plurality and popular participation in the decision making process, without exclusion or discrimination, Bahrain is truly an example of a country that continues to forge international ties and enhance regional and global security and stability as well as mutual understanding between nations.
The example Bahrain gives to the world is that coexistence can occur effectively, because it has done so successfully, and will always continue in this regard.
